after conforces tight album release on delsin and other concept projects he did he/we went wild with this one and selected some tracks we just want to play out loud in a club from vinyl (incl. a killer remix by gesloten cirkel for the title track). at first sight these tracks dont have much in common... and probably still not for the second listen, but we didnt really bother for this one. it will be a standard in our dj box for the coming months with 4 tracks that all have a bit of a different groove and a different mood. grain, be there at night, 24 and 24 remixed by gesloten cirkel. this is probably as versatile as a clone basement release can get.

after several appearances on the label, kareem comes up trumps again with an excellent first solo single release backed by a wonderful remix from white doyen oskar offermann himself.how low can you go the opener track acts as a discreet, structured, driving and some how dubby house tune that keeps a nice layer of grit beneath the fingernails. its loopy character imparts the feeling of virtually remaining unchanged but it nevertheless staidly evolves within its sonic borders and imparts a sensual quality of all-enveloping warmth. oskar offermanns interpretation of how low can you go introduces skipping melodies that are transmitted as choppy discoesque pulses and rhythmic modulated bass sounds are the preferred form of punctuation. indeed the remix is intended to be a dj tool, but like all of oskar offermanns recent house works, it builds smoothly as though every element was simply waiting in the wings to make its appearance at the proper moment, and – just before it finishes up – sounds like it could go on forever.

nice price deal !!! foto recordings is proud to present its 5th release, a 2-track ep from ooft! with fully printed 12 artwork courtesy of computer juice (fra). the title track memories is an emotional deep house workout which nods towards detroit territory with its classic rides and hihats, whilst the flip-side track billy opts for a pitch-down groove with some heavily chopped samples to make up its looping refrain.

following a pair of fine releases on fine art and under the shade, james johnston delivers another superb ep for no matter what. >after everything< is a masterfully created slice of rolling deep house flirting with disco styles, punctuated with snippets of disco guitar licks and dubbed out vocal samples, all held together with a sumptuous chord sequence. the comparatively upbeat tempo rhythm and deep subs of >lost the house keys< which follows comes as something of a surprise, and the chopped up piano which causes the track to erupt into a flurry of jacking rhythms only add to the proto-chi house mood. the rest of the tracks continue with the same kind of upbeat pace, with >get back to the feeling< interlacing a variety of female vocal samples within its 909 rhythms, and >xtc< injecting some serotonin into the ep with its razor sharp synth stabs and snares, whose rhythms recall the deadly precision of marc kinchens early productions...

with two massive reissues from suns of arqa and jaki whitren under their belts, the fledging label emotional rescue have come up with the goods once again, with this remastered reissue of incredibly rare 70s psyche-funk from bob chance. two versions are included: the original 7 inch version, driven along by a razor-sharp guitar riff and sweetly lamenting lyrics, topped off with weird cosmic synths and galloping rhythm. however, the real gem is the edit entitled >wild its broken< which sharpens the focus of the guitar and adds some serious kick to the drums to create a beefy counterpart to the new age original.
